Hello, folks!
Before I start out, I want everyone to know that this message is not intended to alarm anyone; it's simply a temporary policy change I'm issuing as the Line Developer, due to the demands of our workload on the BattleTech front:
Effective immediately, and until a date to be determined later, I am formally requesting that all writers (those guys with the yellow stars) stand down from the general forums and confine all interaction with people to the Ask the Writers and Rules Questions sub-forums. In this fashion, I hope, we will be able to keep the questions actually intended for our creative team focused, and avoid the fairly chaotic events that occur when one of us attempts to offer an official explanation in a thread that will be forgotten or lost mere weeks later. So, if you have a question for the writers and staff, go to the Masters of the Universe, Rules Questions, and Ask the Writers forums. If you simply want to discuss products amongst yourself, discuss them elsewhere. These forums are your playground more than they are ours.
This restriction will not apply to myself, Ben Rome, or Randall Bills. Nor will it apply to "PTBs" who are involved in moderating or administering these forums.
Thank you for your attention and understanding. And I apologize for any inconvenience.

Yellow Star Hiatus Update!
Because I have finally attained 16 hours' worth of total sleep in the last 60+ hours (not counting the times nodding off at the wheel of my car while driving home from the day job), I am feeling generous: The Yellows are now permitted to post in Off-Topic as well, as long as they discuss NOTHING to do with BattleTech. If they do, I have trained Gestapo who will bring their carcasses in to me, to be killed and eaten.

Yellow Star Hiatus Update!
Well, I'd like to thank everyone for participating in another of my sociological experiments. At this time, I am ending the Yellow Star Hiatus (though I reserve the initiative to start it up again immediately, if it proves as problematic as I suspect it can be). Writers and such are once more free to interact with the general population.
But I would like to remind everyone the reason for this hiatus with this simple disclaimer: BattleTech reserves the right to completely and utterly refute or ignore anything discussed by a writer in any kind of fan interaction that occurs outside of the designated Fan Input boards. I don't care who the yellow star is; if it's not myself, Ben Rome, or Randall Bills, what any representative of the game or its story says in these forums OUTSIDE of the Fan Input boards, it not binding to the various PTBs of the BattleTech universe.
In other words, the Fan Input boards are there for all your official needs; if you have a question that requires official response, ALWAYS GO THERE! Hell, you may find a glaring error and help to correct it, and we won't know if it happens in some obscure off-topic conversation, will we?
