Acetone:

Check the laws and environmental impacts in your area.

I live in Ontario and, like paint, acetone cannot legally be disposed of in the home. You can do it, I suppose, but it's bad for the environment.

I didn't know this until after I bought some, and now I refuse to use it, so I'm stuck.

Just get another can to dump the waste into. 

Here in CA you can take that to the waste disposal facility
