MotW Organization thread

Righto, time to introduce a degree of order to this madhouse (of which I am at least partially responsible for, eh?)

This thread is for all requests for mechs, and writers to note their upcoming articles, and pick up requests.  If multiple authors want to do the same mech, they should co-operate.  This is also the place to look for editorial help to pick out those typos and niggling errors before an article goes live.  Last, but not least, we can hopefully work out a staggered release schedule so that we don't overwhelm Fan Articles with a torrent of hot, stomping love death machines.

This should hopefully help moderate the chaos.  I will update this post once a day, maybe more.

Uh... all the folks that have been posting in Article Archive 4, please list what mechs you are doing/plan to do/estimated completion period/resources or assistance that you may need, as well as any requests you may have received.

Use this format:

Mech:
Writer(s):
Expected completion:
Resources needed:
Assistance needed:

Requests should be made in a similar fashion to help writers locate resources that they need.  As well, articles that writers are thinking of doing, but haven't actually committed themselves to should be listed here as Filled Requests.  That way we know that you're interested in it, but perhaps, not sure when you can do it.

Oh, if someone could hit the 'report to mod' button and ask for a sticky, that would help out.  Thanks.

REQUEST: Wolverine

Mech requested: WVR-* Wolverine
Publications: TRO:3025, TRO:3050, TRO:PP + corrsponding RS
Era: 3025+
Status: ?

Seeing as I'm lucky enough to have my wishes fulfilled before I even completely formulate them, I'll be brave enough to throw in a request for another unseen!

It is the only one out of the classic 55-ton trio that hasn't been covered yet. Which to me is a ghastly oversight - I always preferred the Wolverine vastly to either of its competitors. Thanks, guys!

Re: MotW Organization thread

You already know the ones I'm doing, Chanman.  But for the benefit of everyone else:  Jinggau, Yu Huang, Templar, Mad Dog, Nova/Black Hawk Ku.  All articles are expected to be completed within the next two weeks.  Expected plans to post them will be in a space of once a week, one week after the most recent MoTW thread I see (there's a reason why it's called Mech of The Week.  I suggest everyone else learn to show some restraint instead of just posting away, else we should end up calling it Mech of The Day)

Re: MotW Organization thread

Mine will be done from around the 13th to the 18th, and I will be doing both the Emperor and the Beowulf, and will need help on doing the TW versions of the Emperor, since my Mega-Mek doesn't have anything TW...

There are no TW versions of the Emperor.  All of the variants were done with good old fashioned level 2 tech.

Ok. Well, I still don't have the new 3058U variants in my MM, so i'd need somebody else to do them, or i'd just have to go with stats alone...

Don't worry too much about it.  We're just going hog wild for the month, to give everyone who's always wanted to do some of these a chance.  Starting January, I hope to take back the reigns and get back to one a week.

Now, of course, neither you nore I nore anyone has any say in the matter.  I can no more stop you from posting as you can anyone else.  But it would sure be nice if we could get this all our of our system now, which was the hope I had entertained.

Mech: Stealth
Writer(s): Sarafan
Expected completion: December 06 (doesnt meant I'll post on that day)
Resources needed: none
Assistance needed: none

Writer(s): Sarafan
Expected completion: 2 weeks

Mech: Cougar

Expected completion: 2 weeks
Resources needed: none
Assistance needed: none

On both the Kingfisher/Cougar, I'm posting the expected completion at 2 weeks but mostly to play it safe, I like to take my time on writing the articles and depending how it goes I may take less or more time (probably less), Like I did with the others, I'll wait some time between the articles then post them.

Re: MotW Organization thread

The Helios article is done and ready to go. I'll work on cleaning up the Stone Rhino article this week so call completion Dec 8th. Is there a published record sheet for the Stone Rhino 3 or is the description in 3055U it that we have for that variant? 4 LPL, 2 ATM-9 with 4 tons of ammo and two ER micros to the rear?

I'm in no particular hurry to post either of them so I can wait until a slot opens up.

Re: MotW Organization thread

There is a sheet for the Rhino, but if you have MM, they used it to make the 3 in the game, in the newer versions.

Wars, put a space inbetween your two mechs.  It will keep Sarafan from getting confused  Wink  If you need help with the Emperor, let me know.  I may not be writing, but I think this is something of an addiction that I'm having a hard time letting go.  I'm also around to fact check if you'd like, too.  I not only have TROs 3060 and 3058 (old and new) but also Beowulf the book, too.

You're including the one's Kojak did as his "Blakist Target of the Week" series? I'd also add the Celestials now JHS72 is readily available.

The Celestials were already done in a six-pack by IM, I think, though that was before the new variants came out.  In any case, it might be a good idea to hold off on those until the entirety of their canon stock configurations come out.

The Templar Grayson and Tancred will be covered in the Templar article I'm doing.  And there are no such 'Mechs as the "Chimp," "Simian" and "Testing.." and what the Hell is a Den-Shen? Huh?

Though I call dibs on the Capellan 'Mechs (Anubis, Duan Gung, Pillager, Raven. and Thunder), provided they legitimately need an updated article, since I'm pretty sure they've already been done several times over.

Th only thing I need for the Emperor is for someone to test how the 3058U variants actually Do in a fight, Since I can't do that right now. Also, I probably will take you up on your offer for fact checking.

Mech requested: Jupiter
Publications: RS:DA, MW:DA unique dossiers
Era: MW:DA/AOD

If no ones taking this one, I could do an article. But - I'd need an editor who got the RS:DA, since a) English isn't my native language and b) I don't own the book, so I'll have to work with the data from MegaMek and the dossiers.

By the way, does "Faraday" mean you like the Mandrills, or just that you are in to electromagnetism?

Archive 2, I think

I'll see if I can get some mods to fold the various archives into a single Directory thread
probably by deleting all the posts in one thread so I can hog up the first 5 or 6 replies

RS:DA, as far as I know, just has the stat blocks - same as you can find in Megamek or HMPro.

I'd be happy to edit for you.

Electromagnetism, please.

Actually, it's just a (poor) running gag between me and my friends that stuck and I've been using it as a internet nickname for about a decade.

@ Iron Mongoose, chanman - Thanks. I'll send you a draft in a day or two.
