A sequel to Tom Cruise-starring iconic '80s film Top Gun is on the cards with the star reprising his role...the idea is Maverick is at the Top Gun school as an instructor - and this time it is he who has to deal with a cocky new female pilot.

Great. More lack of originality from Hollyweird.
While Top Gun was nothing more than porn for aviation nuts and Tomcat fans, it's still considered to be a classic "popcorn movie" by many. And this was in Cruise's early career, when he was a respected up and coming young actor (before he became the freakish runt he is today).
Now, they're going to make an "updated" (post '90's) sequel. Which translated, means it'll be pure shit when compared to the original (which wasn't exactly Oscar material, despite being a fun matinee movie).
But I suppose the Navy needs another PR film. The Super Hornet needs a little glorifying in the public eye, considering that it's lacking in key areas when compared to it's two predecessors. |

I figured I'd replace the kid with Christian Bale since as of Terminator Four, he's officially in everything now.
Including a London City police holding-cell, apparently. (Well at least until bail was paid.)
I hadn't expected so many people to be so opposed to this idea of a movie. Sure it's sheer unoriginality is little short of planetkilling... But the first one was a very amusing movie and I can't deny the second one could be too.
Like some above posters said: I'd love a well filmed air combat flick! (Provided it's not an over-obvious CGI-fest...) So... any bets on who the 'sierra hotel female stick' is gonna be?
