During the CBT events on Friday night, some rather peculiar men in robes walked through the hall screaming about the lies of the Inner Sphere and the truth of the Word. Normally, this would not have made for an unussual happening, especially since we are at GenCon. However, one of the robed figures was holding a rather curious document in his hand. I leave you all to speculate. (I assume there will be a proper announcement anyways in an hour or so…)

We've been speculating. Actually, I think it's gone beyond mere speculation. Several of us have broken the Masquerade and revealed our awesome telepathic powers.

Not only did the Word of Blake tear the Inner Sphere apart with the Jihad. They've also done some pretty significant damage to my wallet.

Besides, pants get in the way of the mace-thing! And do we have it confirmed ordinary frails wear pants? EDIT: Also, because I have to post this somwehere, in keeping with the STar Wars bit: St. Jamais: The Master never told you what happened to your pants. Apollyon: He told me enough! He told me you ripped them! St Jamais: No, I sowed your pants. Join me, and together we can rule the galaxy, like two pantswearers! Apollyon: NEVER!

No wonder the Manly Domini were able to impersonate them so easily. It's the strut.

And the fate of that robed fanatic pictured above from the news page of TableTop Gaming News: a figure dressed in Blake robes walked into the BattleTech gaming area in Wasbash 3 tearing pages from the book and screaming about Inner Sphere lies. His bloody robe was later attached to the game cage in the room with a cover of the book attached to it. They'll never top this Gen Con. No one ever will. Too bad only BattleTech fans can appreciate it. I sorta feel sorry for all the other gamers who attended Gen Con.

Woe be to us that couldn't attend for whatever reasons, too. Cost being the mitigating factor. Plane, hotel room for 5-6 days, rental car (maybe), food, GenCon pass and Gencon goodies could run me over $1500. I'm not a TPTBer who can write this off on my taxes nor do I have that kinda scratch to toss around on a luxury.

Had I not ended up with Thyroid Cancer I would be there. I have been really excited about what has happend with Classic BattleTech recently and had a feeling that this GenCon was going to be huge for CBT.

I am finished with the surgery to remove the thyroid last March and the radiation treatments in June. Everything looks good. The only thing now is trying to get my med levels right. Between insurance co-pays ($1500 USD) for the Surgery and lots of visits to my 5 diffrent doctors staring over a year ago plus the lost time at work and reduced hours for recovery have really depleted my funds.
EDIT: To let you know how much fun I had over the last year.
1) Went to my General Physician a year ago last July because I was really fatigued for about 3 weeks. He ran some lab work and ordered and ultrasound of my neck and found a 3cm mass which a biopsy showed as cancer. 2) Went to an Otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat) who recommended surgery. And was the Surgeon I used. 3) An Endocrinologist (glands and stuff) for 2nd opinion on surgery and he would handle adjusting medication levels after surgery. 4) A Neurologist because my Otolaryngologist figured I had Sleep Apnea 1 sleep study confirmed I did a 2nd got me my C-PAP 5) And a Nuclear Medicine doctor to handle the radiation treatments.
5 Doctors, about 15 office visits between them, 2 sleep studies, 2 hospital stays (one for operation and one for radiation).1 Fine Needle Biopsy (jam needles into you neck while awake and wiggle them around)

Jeez. Well, you're still in the land of the living - doesn't bear to think about what could have happened had you ignored the signs and not consulted your doctor.
