You definitely need a "Not enough data to make a decision."
At this point he's just a name, an idea really.

I reserve the right to gripe about him later but at this point I do not have enough information to make an opinion about him.

Can't really judge a character until weve actually seen him, so far its been articles online, a few pararaphs mentioning him in a few novels and a few lines and what one page in a sourcebook. Alls I personally know about him is he leads a group called Stones Lament, drives an Atlas II and eventually builds the Republic with himself as its head of state. I personally don't think hes Arthur S-D as it would just be plain dumb. So can't honestly vote as none of the choices fit.

There is no Devlin Stone, it's an idea the Inner Sphere's elite cooked up. Haven't you ever read The Theory and Practice of Oligarchial Collectivism?

At this point, I don't think it's a problem. History has it's heroes and a lot of time we give them a lot of credit (both deserved and undeserved). I imagine you could find a lot of people who would belive and think that George Washington single-handely beat the British and founded the US.
But that is the fine line that TPTB walk. It's fine that he becomes a near-mythical legend and given all the credit for founding the ROTS, but they also need to make sure that the "facts" make it a little more realistic.

If you're waiting to make a judgement until you've actually seen Stone in a story, you now have the opportunity. Stone's first meeting with Victor Steiner-Davion is one of the new stories included in the 25 Years of Art & Fiction book.

Well, my copy of JHS3076 did not really elaborate on the man other than people like him, gets a coalition of the owning, and then wins/leaves mysteriously as he came. Not much substance to tie to and get a feel for the character.
